rich people like gates

i don’t know that i blame them

i have often wished to wall off my

most prized possessions and people and performances

from anyone else’s view

you don’t know the code?

then you don’t get access

but Jesus didn’t do that, he left the gated community

told everyone the password

swung the door wide open

and while there is a place

for boundaries

my heart must be postured to go, not huddle

move, not wait

engage, not escape

because greater is He that is in me

and I have nothing to fear
